Blog Post #4:

Joos Launches in London

Team Joos were delighted to launch our London network in December & meet so many of our amazing venues in the process

Despite everything 2020 threw our way, Team Joos officially launched our London network of Joos Box Minis as the year was coming to an end. The rollout of the new Joos service took place all over the city, with the team installing in our favourite restaurants & bars from Fulham through to Greenwich, and everywhere in-between!

Behind the scenes, the team had spent time meticulously planning and mapping our routes, and most importantly, readying our shiny new product for its new home. The Network Team, compromised of Lucia, Deep, Dom, Guy & Saffron, were tasked with the physical installation process

Despite some long days on the road, the interactions and exchanges with venue owners across London makes the installation process incredibly rewarding for our team on their travels. With each independent venue comes another culture or cuisine, or both! Our team enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with our venues and their team and understand their journeys through 2020. By visiting them safely in-person, we were able to understand the venue painpoints around customer phone charging in the ‘new normal’ whilst continuing to develop our strong relationship with the venues’ management.

Following our sustainable masks giveaway in November, we decided to extend the offer to the owners and staff at our venues. Safety is central to all that we do, and the masks provide a sustainable way of keeping venues staff safe whilst also staying stylish at the same time! We also provided each venue with a supply of hand sanitiser, completely for free.

From pizza chefs to Mediterranean waitresses, all of the staff were quick to swap their single-use disposable masks with their fresh sustainable Joos ones, and we were equally quick to welcome them into the growing Joos network.

Alexandra, Restaurant Manager at Cacio e Pepe, loved her Joos mask and the new Joos Box Mini. The Italian restaurant, nestled on the corner of Belgrave Road in Pimlico, welcomed the team with the sweet smell of ripe tomatoes; and after our speedy installation process, the Joos Box Mini stood on the countertop proudly, looking sleek and at home in the rustic venue.

“Joos is part of the excellent customer experience that I want all my customers to receive at our venue. I cannot imagine my customers not being able to charge their phones while dining at our restaurant.”

Like Cacio e Pepe, most of our venues are now closed under the current lockdown. We’re proud to be a business that supports so many independent retailers and eateries and we’ve learned first-hand of the struggles they have experienced over the last 12 months. We look forward to supporting them even more when it is safe to do so and encourage our amazing Joos customers to shop, eat & drink local to keep these amazing venues thriving.

Our venues team extend our thanks to all of our venues in being so accommodating during launch week and Team Joos is excited for all that is to come between our growing company and London’s great independent venues in 2021...
